SMART HER EMPOWERMENT (SHE)

Founded in 2015 SHE has experience working with adolescent girls and women in the Northern Region of Sierra Leone. Our focus have been mentoring girls in sexual and reproductive health; campaigns on menstrual health hygiene practices; advocacy for policies changes for assess to sexual reproductive health information and services, Breast Cancer, FGM, HIV, Fistula, early marriage, domestic violence and teenage pregnancy.

“WELLBODI EN POWER” in Sierra Leone Krio language meaning ‘GOOD HEALTH AND EMPOWERMENT embodies the philosophy of the ORGANISATION and is the official motto of the ORGANISATION.

OUR MISSION

SHE exists to empower girls and women to develop their confidence, life skills and reproductive health; to improve the ability to realise their dreams and to contribute to positive social transformation.

OUR VISION

SHE seeks for a society where girls and women are healthy, have self-esteem, protected from domestic violence, rape, teenage pregnancy and ability to make decision and create visionary change.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • To advocate for the less privileged girls and women, and preach against gender discrimination;
  • To sensitise and empower girls and women about their rights and responsibilities through our mentorship programmes;
  • To campaign against early marriage, teenage pregnancy, abuse or domestic violence;
  • To constitute SHE into a service ORGANISATION to actively promote and foster suitable health measures for the attainment of healthy girls and women, and to establish cooperative relations with civic and governmental institutions and agencies in the field of public health service;
  • To train girls and women on leadership skills, life skills, reproductive health and healthy living, entrepreneurship and employment skills
